Reminder – May 21st Meeting – NOTE LOCATION and TIME Changes

The May 21st, 2026 meeting will be held at Camp Brewster at 6:30 pm

Our annual Raptor Shoot! And this year is special. The Fontenelle Forest Fall Fundraiser will have a Bird theme. You will be able to submit your raptor photos for consideration in the auction. Last year, our photo club entries raised over $3000 dollars for the Forest! Bring your camera and “take a shot” to support the Forest.

Also, bring your photos of Mammals of Fontenelle Forest for the display gallery. These can be photos taken at FF, or taken elsewhere in a setting similar to FF. The displays are a favorite of the kids who visit the forest. Please bring them to the May meeting.

NEW DATE! Wildflower Hike at the Forest – Now on Tues April 14th – 5:30PM

The wildflower hike at Fontenelle Forest has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 14 (previously scheduled for April 7th).  Those interested in attending should meet in front of the main building at 5:30. The guided hike will begin at 5:45 and last until 7:00 or 7:15. Our Fontenelle Forest guide will know where to go to find the best potential shots.

Suggestions for those attending

  1. Wear comfortable shoes or hiking boots. We will be on trails, not the boardwalk.
  2. Pay attention to the weather forecast and dress accordingly.
  3. Bring bug spray and perhaps even a hat.
  4. Bring hiking poles if needed.
  5. A backpack for loose gear, extra lenses, and water would be helpful.
  6. Suitable lenses include a macro lens, 50 mm, wide angle, or a combination lens, such as 18-400mm.
  7. Our guide will have access to the main building, so restrooms will be available before and after the walk.

Questions?

Please address questions and confirmation of your intention to attend using the phone number sent in email to all club members on April 1st.   A text message is fine to indicate you are coming. If you did not receive the email, please leave your name and intent to attend at Contact@fontenelleforestphotoclub.org. Your information will be forwarded.

The Birds of Fontenelle Forest photos may be taken somewhere other than the Forest, but should be birds found at the Forest, and have a “Forest” like appearance. Macro (Close up) photos can be of anything, anywhere.

If you have not yet paid dues, they are $20 for an individual and $30 for a family. Kathleen will be collecting at the meeting.

Be sure to check that your Fontenelle Forest membership is current. All photo club members must also be members of Fontenelle Forest.
