Last Meeting – Wetlands Photo Shoot
Our May Meeting / Wetlands Photo Shoot went off without a hitch. After a quick discussion we were able to enjoy a beautiful evening in the Wetlands walking and photographing the landscape as well as various flora and fauna. Here are a couple of pictures taken that evening.
If you would like to share your pictures from the shoot, please send me your best two or three shots and I’ll post them all in a future blog article.
Club Photo Contest
The 2016 Fontenelle Forest Photography Club Photo Contest is now officially under way! We received 90 entries and set up the display on Saturday morning at the Bellevue University Hitchcock Humanities Building gallery.
Feel free to stop by the gallery to view the entries. We also encourage you to invite friends and family to view the display. People’s Choice voting is open so anyone that stops by can vote for their favorite image. A ballot box is on a table at the gallery where voters can drop their ballots. But be aware that the photography identification cards will be hidden from view until after the judge reviews the photos on 6/8.
As we’ve discussed previously, our next meeting on Thursday, June 16th at 7 pm will be held at the Bellevue University Hitchcock Humanities Building Auditorium. Before the meeting, club members will have the opportunity to place their vote for the Members Choice ribbon . So if you can, please arrive early in order to take the time you need to vote on your favorite photo.
The meeting will consist of the awards presentation along with a critique of every photo submission by our judge, fine art photographer, Scott Papek. You can visit Scott’s website, http://www.papekphotography.com, to learn more about him.
So if you haven’t done so already, please send a copy of the photos you submitted to the email@example.com e-mail address. The photos should be sized at no less than 2000 pixels on the long edge. The judge will critique the photos in the auditorium as they are projected on screen.
As you embark on your summer outings, please keep our next photo displays in mind. In September we will be collecting photos covering the following topics:
Rows – any images depicting row-like patterns.
Please remember to add your name, the subject and the location on the back of each photo you submit. The photos can be 8×10, 8×12 or 11×14. No mattes or frames please.
Please let me know if there are any questions.
