Our first meeting of the new season, on Thursday, September 17th at 7pm, is right around the corner. As I mentioned in my previous post, we will be meeting at the Camp Brewster main building at 1313 Bellevue Blvd North, which is just north of the Fontenelle Forest Nature Center. The entrance to Camp Brewster is marked by a small wooden sign by a gate. Enter the gate, drive up the driveway and park by the main lodge building.
We will meet briefly in the building, followed by an opportunity to photograph the late summer flowers that should still be blooming near the building. After the photo shoot we will return to the building and have a slideshow of our members favorite shots of the summer.
If you would like to participate in the slideshow, please send no more than 3 photos via e-mail to the firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are unable to send the photos via e-mail, you can bring them in on a flash drive. Photos should be sized to 1000-1200 pixels on the long edge with a resolution of no less than 72 ppi.
Please bring your photography gear for the photo shoot. Some suggestions of items to bring are:
- Camera – DSLR or point and shoot.
- Macro or Close Focus Photography Lens – many point and shoot cameras have a macro mode that works well also.
- Extension Tube – can be used with DSLR lenses to allow the lens to focus more closely.
- Bug spray
For our photo displays please bring your bird and flower photos. The photos can be 8×10, 8×12 or 11×14. No mattes or frames please. Please write your name and the image subject and location on the back of the photo. Also, for October and November we will be collecting barn, butterfly and bee photos.
Doug French and Frank Dye will be modeling our new club t-shirts! Doug will be taking orders during the meeting. Here’s a link to the t-shirt order form.
Looking forward to seeing you all on Thursday the 17th at Camp Brewster!
