Notes About…

I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We had a great turn out for the Christmas Potluck dinner. Once again we had plenty of delicious dishes brought to the table. I want to thank our board for their work to make this an amazingly successful holiday gathering. Thanks to those member’s kind words for the slide show. I am also still apologizing for not having Kathleen’s and Linda Schuett’s pictures in the slideshow. I think having our dinner at Camp Brewster was more intimate and friendly. The projector is much better and showed our pictures more accurately than the projector at the forest would have. I suggest we ask to use the Camp next year as well.

Speaking of the slideshow, I have published the slideshow as a portfolio and also it has replaced the contest winners on the home page. I have received Kathleen Crawford-Rose’s and Linda Schuett’s pictures and I added them to our slideshow. Take a look!

And speaking of portfolios, I am still promoting member’s to have one. Particularly since I am getting a better understanding of how to make one and edit it as well. When I say edit I mean I only size them. I will not attempt to make any corrections to the quality of the photo other than scaling the photos to fit. How about making individual portfolios out of the photos members have submitted for the slideshow? And I can add to the member’s existing portfolio. Let me know in the comments below or e-mail me.

Astro Photography

I am looking forward to our January 16, 2020 meeting. Ken Smith is going to present a program about night time and astro photography. Check out Ken’s website.

Gallery

Work progress’s on the website. I am finding that when I ask for photos from our members to be sized at 2000 pixels on the long side, it works great for landscape oriented photos. It does not work well when those photos are portrait oriented. I am sure you have noticed for those types of photos you have to scroll down the picture to see it all. To fix this annoying extra step I am resizing those photos to 800 pixels on the long side. Let me know if this works for you. Leave me comments below or e-mail me.

Frogs and Toads

Judy is taking your Snow and Ice photos for the Bellevue Library display. She will also take your Frogs and Toads photos for a near future exhibit.

Tell me what you want…

If any of our members have an idea or would like to see something that would be of interest to the rest of the club, please leave a comment below or e-mail me.

Baright Gallery

The Forest want our photos that are being display in the Baright Gallery be taken down down on December 31, 2019. We need to be there between 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM for the removal of the photos. If you can’t be there to get your photo, the Dyes will bring them at the January 16, 2020 meeting. Please make an effort to get your photo at one of those times. I will send another reminder a couple of days prior to New Year’s Eve.
