2015 Photo Contest Is Coming!
The 2015 Annual Fontenelle Forest Photography Club Photo Contest is coming up in May and we would love to have 100% participation. The contest is not only great way to share your favorite pictures, but it is also an opportunity to view your fellow club members images. Also, the critique of all the entries, provided by this year’s contest judge, Tim White, is a great opportunity to get honest feedback and tips on how to become a better photographer.
Submissions and the show set up is on 5/30 at 10am. The critique and awards will be done during our regular meeting on 6/18 which will be held at the Bellevue University Gallery in the Humanities Building. Photos will be taken down on Saturday, 6/27. Here’s a link to all of the contest information and rules.
Upcoming Seminar at the Linn Area Photo Club

The seminar will be on April 25th and this year’s speaker is Eddie Tapp. Eddie is a very accomplished photographer and an authority on digital imaging workflows. Whether you decide to enter this contest or any other, here’s a video from the Iowa State Fair with some background info on the State Fair contest as well as good advice on entering any photo contest.
Thanks to Allen Kurth for this information.
Next Meeting, Thursday, April 16th
The topic for our April meeting will be Night Photography. Our own Alan Brodin will be sharing information and techniques related to taking great photos at night. We also plan to conduct a night photography outing the following Saturday night, April 18th, where members can use their some of the techniques that Alan will be discussing. We’ll send more details about the outing shortly.
To go along with our theme for the month, Judy Dye will be collecting night/darkness and landscape photos at the April and May meetings for the displays in the Nature Center and the Bellevue Library. As usual, the photos can be 8×10, 8×12 or 11×14. No mattes or frames please. Please include your name, location and subject on the back of the photo.
