President Frank Comisar opened the meeting.
Secretary Kent Brede updated members on the up and coming Exposure 101 Workshop, that will be held on February 2nd, at the Forest Center. For more information and to sign up: Exposure 101 Workshop
Contest Coordinator Doug French updated members on the Club Contest held in June. He’s looking for ideas to improve the show. Contact Doug if you have any ideas. We voted on splitting the “Bird and Animals” category into two separate categories, “Birds” and “Animals.” In conjunction it was propose to get rid of the “Anything Goes” category. The proposal failed. It was agreed to add a “Public People’s Choice Award” voted on by visitors to our Contest Display. It was agreed that the largest mat window size allowed for the show is, 16″x24″.
Display Coordinator Judy Dye requested photos of Birds (for the Forest) and Cemeteries (for the Bellevue Library) for our upcoming photo displays. Please bring unframed, unmated 8 x 10 or 11 x 14 prints to the February meetings. Be sure to label the prints with your name and subject, especially the location of the cemetery photos. If you have any questions, please contact Judy.
Kathleen Crawford-Rose reminded us that not everyone has paid dues. So get those in to Kathleen.
Frank mentioned the club brochure is being updated. You can still send photos for possible placement into the brochure, but they must be sent this weekend. The photos should be 240 to 300 dpi and be sent to Vice President Jay Davis. For more information see this prior post.
Frank mentioned that John Gerlach will be conducting a Nature Photography Workshop, March 23rd. You can find out more about the workshop and how to sign up at John’s website.
The member slide show was watched as members gave comments about their photos.
We were then treated by an interesting presentation on Photo Book Publishing by member Rich Ryan. Thanks Rich!
The meeting concluded with Frank giving a demonstration on how to use our new website.
